Executive Roles
Directors
This person is responsible for overseeing the management of the organization and ensuring it is running efficiently. There are three main duties for this position that must be upheld.
- Duty of Care: Take care of the nonprofit organization by ensuring the prudent use of all assets, including facility, people, and goodwill.
- Duty of Loyalty: Ensure the nonprofit organization's activities and transactions are advancing its mission first and foremost, recognize and disclose conflicts of interest, and make decisions in the best interest of the organization.
- Duty of Obedience: Ensure the nonprofit organization complies with applicable laws and regulations, follows its bylaws, and adheres to its stated corporate purpose and mission.
Officers
The officers work directly with the directors to ensure the organization runs efficiently. They provide guidance, strategic focus, and resourcefulness for program services.
Facility Staff
Program Director/Center Director
The program director/center director is responsible for the facility’s day-to-day operations and the overall care of the center, the children enrolled, and our staff members. This position requires the minimum qualifications:
- Is at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED
- Must have at least a director’s credentials. A Master Teacher’s certificate, Certificate of Mastery, or Child Development Associate (CDA)/Child Development and Pedagogy (CCP) is a plus
- Knows and follows all the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) licensing requirements
- Has the responsible attitude of an owner and takes pride in the facility
- Has administrative and management training or experience (A Plus)
- Has at least 3 years of experience in child care or any related field (A Plus)
- Demonstrates the ability to perform job duties
- Is well-organized, a fair leader, and encouraging to other staff members
- Takes care of problems quickly, foresees hazards, and corrects them
- Keeps staff certificates, training certifications, and credentials current according to the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD) and OKDHS requirements
- Is caring, protective, and loving to all children enrolled
- Must pass criminal background checks
Assistant Director/Master Teacher
The assistant director/master teacher is responsible for the overall care of the children enrolled. This position requires the following minimum qualifications:
- Is at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
- Has at least a Master Teacher’s certificate, Certificate of Mastery, or CDA or has obtained the qualifications at Level III or higher of Appendix L-3 Professional Development Ladder of the OKDHS licensing requirements
- Knows and follows all OKDHS licensing requirements
- Has a responsible attitude, gentle hand, and loving heart for caring for children
- Has at least 2 years of experience in child care or a related field
- Demonstrates the ability to perform job duties
- Demonstrates a passion for working with children
- Is able to assist the director with the day-to-day operations of the center
- Is encouraging and supportive of the teachers in all aspects of the care for the children and the center
- Keeps the learning environment safe, fun, and enjoyable for the children enrolled
- Is caring and protective when working with children
- Must pass criminal background checks
Lead Teacher/Teacher
The lead teacher/teacher is responsible for the care and well-being of the children. This position requires the following minimum qualifications:
- Is at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
- Has at least 1 year of experience in child care or a related field (Certificates or credentials are a plus.)
- Has knowledge of and follows all OKDHS licensing requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to perform job duties
- Demonstrates a passion for working with children
- Assists the assistant director and master teacher with the day-to-day duties in the course of caring for children and the center environment
- Keeps the learning environment safe, fun, and enjoyable for the children enrolled
- Is caring, protective, and loving when working with children
- Is familiar with and upholds OKDHS licensing requirement standards
- Is responsible and caring
- Is encouraging and supportive of children
- Must pass criminal background checks
Driver
The driver is responsible for the care, safety, and supervision of all children enrolled in the center while transporting them. This position requires the following minimum qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a current state-issued driver’s license
- Has no convictions for driving under the influence (DUI), driving while intoxicated or impaired (DWI), or other impaired driving offenses
- Has knowledge of the city’s general areas of transportation and other geographical locations
- Must be able to take and pass an OKDHS-approved child passenger safety course
- Knows how to read a map (a plus)
Cook
The cook is responsible for preparing and serving daily meals and snacks. This position requires the following minimum qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age or older (Food service training is a plus.)
- Has at least some knowledge of preparing and cooking a wide variety of food
- Has knowledge of using food scales and measurements
- Has knowledge of properly storing food
- Is educated on nutrition
- Has knowledge of age-appropriate food selections
- Is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment and utensils
